Description
Watermelons are quite resilient to drought and can grow in various climates, but excessive rainfall is not ideal for their development. They thrive well in acidic soils.
Uses
Hybrid watermelon seeds, utilized in agriculture and the food industry, are renowned for producing high-quality, chemical-free watermelons, ensuring a natural and pure product.
Planting
Prepare the field by ploughing it to a fine tilth and creating long channels 2.5 meters apart. For PKM 1 watermelon variety, sow seeds on one side of the channel with 0.9 meters spacing between hills. Optimal irrigation involves watering before dibbling seeds and then weekly thereafter, avoiding long dry spells to prevent fruit cracking.
